(Translated by Google) Because of low AMH levels and constant anxiety about my fertility age, I decided to freeze my eggs at a assisted reproductive center in Taipei.
The most important thing I want to share about the entire process is that it wasn’t as scary as I imagined.
From follow-up appointments, blood tests, ultrasounds to egg retrieval, Dr. Huang Ting-Chi was incredibly meticulous. During each ultrasound, she personally explained the follicle status and encouraged me to give the eggs more time to grow, which reassured me a lot. The nurses were also very gentle, incredibly patient when explaining the injections, and proactively called to check on me afterward, making me feel well taken care of.
My biggest fear was the daily injections and the trigger shot, but after 13 days, I found it wasn’t as painful as I imagined; I was just scaring myself! 😂
In the end, 15 eggs were retrieved, 8 of which were mature. The doctor said that for my AMH level of just over 2, this number was actually better than expected. Although there’s still room for improvement in the maturation rate, I’m already very grateful for the results and glad I made this decision.
Thank you, Dean Huang, Vice Dean Huang, and all the nurses, for making this initially anxious journey much more reassuring. After waking up from the surgery, the dean explained the egg retrieval process to me, and I told her that I hope I’ll be a mother when we take our next photo together 🙂
