After more than two years of delays, my egg freezing plan was finally completed this year.

Treatment period: August 26, 2026 – September 7, 2026

I've always loved children, and having children has always been part of my life plan. I actually consulted about egg freezing when I was 32, but I hadn't seriously considered it. I'm a clinical nurse, and during my break from my job in Taoyuan earlier this year, I didn't do much research. After seeing many recommendations for Huang Jianrong Reproductive and Gynecological Clinic, my first consultation was with Dr. Huang Jianrong, the clinic's director, who explained the entire egg freezing process and costs. The hospital director was very kind and explained that I immediately decided to complete my egg freezing treatment there. My AMH level was 4.34. However, at that time, it was almost Chinese New Year, and the clinic was closing. I also wanted to relax and travel abroad.

After resting for four months, I started a new job. The adjustment period was quite stressful, and my meals and sleep were irregular. But I still kept thinking about egg freezing. It's difficult to take time off as a nurse. When my period came in July, I went to see the vice-director, Dr. Huang Ting-Chi, after my day shift. Dr. Huang was very kind and helpful. After I explained why I was there, she looked at my ovarian ultrasound and suggested I nurture my eggs for a month. I purchased Ampreneur Q10 at my own expense to nurture my eggs for a month (actually, I felt that the work pressure was too great and my irregular schedule would definitely lower my AMH level and potentially affect egg quality).

In August, during my D2 follicle checkup, Dr. Huang reviewed the ultrasound image and found I had a few more eggs. She advised me to stop nurturing and start the treatment directly, thus beginning my egg freezing journey.

I had three checkups in just two weeks. Because the nurses' schedules were already fixed, it was difficult to take time off or find colleagues to share time off, so I had all the checkups during evening clinic hours. Each checkup included blood tests, ultrasounds, and oral progesterone administration. Dr. Huang followed the prescribed schedule… The blood test results determined the daily injection dosage. I only received a call from the clinic shortly before the trigger shot to adjust the progesterone dosage. The trigger shot was given two nights before egg retrieval, and then I just waited for the retrieval day.

On day 14, the egg retrieval day, I arrived earlier than scheduled. It was my first time receiving general anesthesia, and it felt amazing. I slept comfortably and woke up to find it was over. After resting in the recovery room for an hour, I was able to get out of bed and move around. I couldn't ride a bike or bicycle on the day of the retrieval. After returning home, I felt fine, and the next day I was as lively as ever!

Dr. Huang retrieved 10 eggs for me: 7 mature and 2 semi-mature. One egg wasn't mature, which was a bit disappointing and I'm already thinking about doing a second egg freezing treatment. But this time, I need to focus on nurturing my eggs properly!

Although the egg freezing process was busy and tiring every day, and the medication caused some physical changes, I successfully completed this round of treatment. Now, I really regret not doing it sooner. If only I had taken that step sooner… Finally, I want to say that women are truly amazing!
